What's For Sale

Well, after the big bomb scare at the St. Catharine's Walmart on Fourth Avenue we searched the newspapers for an article. Nothing.

Walmart PAYS TO KEEP NEGATIVE THINGS OUT OF THE PRESS
an employee at our Walmart told us. Isn't that nice.

Now every time we go into a Walmart, or for that matter, even drive by one, Jaevin gets nervous.

"Is this the fourth Avenue Walmart? Will there be another bomb threat?"

We assure him that no, it is not the same Walmart, and that no, definitely not, there will not be another bomb threat.

"But you don't know that for sure!" he says.

"Yes, we do. There isn't going to be another bomb threat. Don't worry."

"But you can't be SURE. There is always a chance! You never know."

And really, can I positively tell my six-year-old son with certainty and confidence that he will never have to go through another bomb threat experience?

The truth is no, I can't say that.
I can't hug him and assure him that 100% nothing bad like that will happen to him in his life again.

The way things are going in this world, I can probably guarantee something WILL happen.

Every day I worry about the state of the world. How everything is becoming so Big Brother-ish and there is so much paranoia on a daily basis.
There is a lot of mis-directed hate created by a power hungry, oil stealing, selfish, illegal war-starting jerk.

I just heard that Bush is coming to Ottawa this summer. I am going to find out when and see if there is some kind of peace march or something.
